Marrakech ➝ Dades Valley
High Atlas & DadesEarly pickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n-Tichka pass with scenic stops. Visit the famous Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah (UNESCO site). Continue to Ouarzazate and explore film studios or Taourirt Kasbah. Drive through the Skoura palm grove and Valley of Roses. Overnight in a luxury hotel near the Dades Gorges, with dinner and breakfast included.
Dades ➝ Todra Gorges ➝ Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
Merzouga DesertAfter breakfast, head through scenic roads and Berber villages. Todra Gorges stop for a short hike and photos. Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Camel trek into the desert to watch the sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Luxury desert camp with private tent, en-suite bathroom, dinner & mint tea, and stargazing/berber music experience by the fire.
Merzouga ➝ Fes
FesOpt for an early morning wake-up to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before heading to Fes. The journey will take you through the stunning Ziz Valley with its river oasis and countless palm trees, passing through Midelt in the heart of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Continue through the magnificent cedar forests of Azrou, where you may spot troops of Barbary macaques in the so-called 'monkey forest' – one of the few natural habitats of these endangered primates outside Gibraltar. Arrive in Fes, Morocco's spiritual capital, in the late afternoon, marking the end of your desert adventure. Check in to your riad in the ancient medina.
